Atmosphere IoT Studio adds support for the Raspberry Pi 4

News | January 15th, 2020
Atmosphere recently added support for the Raspberry Pi 4.
The Raspberry Pi 4 is a single-board computer developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. It includes a high-performance 64-bit quad-core processor, dual-display support with up to 4K resolution, up to 4GB of RAM, 40-pin GPIO headers, and connectivity support with dual-band 2.4/5.0 GHz wireless LAN, Bluetooth Low Energy, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports.
The Raspberry Pi 4 is a unique platform to work inside the Atmosphere IoT Studio compared to other supported hardware, as it’s a Linux computer and not a single-purpose development board, so it runs an Atmosphere project alongside other applications as opposed to being the sole the firmware running on the device. Atmosphere projects installed on the Raspberry Pi 4 run as a system service, and will start on boot alongside other system services. Likewise, they execute and can be stopped in the same manner as other applications.
